SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic. - The organizing committee of MissDominican Republic on Tuesday announced the dismissal of Carlina Balderacrown Duran reached on 17 April, when it was determined that she was married, in violation of the statutes of the competition.
The announcement was made from Puerto Rico by Magali Febles, director of the franchise of the Miss Dominican Republic.
Duran reported that Baldera admitted that she was married, so it will be replaced by Dulcita Lieggi Francisco, the first beauty pageant finalist.
"We regret that there has been this annoying situation because Carlina was an excellent candidate to participate in Miss Universe," said Magali Febles.
He added that "she hid her married status and the organizers can not be complicitand accepting an illegal act. Consequently, we have no alternative but to withdrawthe crown "
"I am coming tomorrow to the country to crown the new Dominican Republic," saidMagali Febles. source
