Oprah's Choice For Miss Universe 2011 Is Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup


"I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point." – Oprah via NBC News.


I’m not sour graping about Angola winning the whole thing. I mean, I’m a bit disappointed that Shamcey failed to snatch the crown but I’m not disappointed with her. She did her best and sashay on that stage with beauty, confidence and a million dollar smile. Miss Angola Leila Lopes on the other hand was very charming on stage and had this innocence and elegance combined that garnered the audience and the judges’ approval.

I’m still very much proud of my girl Shamcey! You made us proud kababayan! You are our Miss Universe 2011!

    I am contented with the results but would be happier if Shamcey won the title. :)

    I'd be extremely happy if every year our representative will place in the top 5 until we get our 3rd title. :)

    yes, they all answered perfectly well but i noticed the interpreter for ms angola spoke even if ms angola has not finished her sentence yet. :-D

    Ms Philippines should have won the title as she's been consistently in the top 3 of fan's favorite. You are right Oprah

    it should have been Ms Angola and Ms Philippines for the 1 and 2 positions.The top 5 are all charming but the answers of the 2 separated them from the field. Fantastic performance by our dear Shamcey. Mabuhay. God bless you

    I'm very happy for my kababayan Ms.Shamcey Supsup for garnered the 3rd Runner up in the Miss Universe 2011. It proves that in an international arena particularly in Beauty and Brain Competition nobody can defeat the filipinos,she had the best answer to the question no more second thoughts nor rethinks of her answer, her idea was apparently direct and straight to the point and was extremely right.

    well, it all boils down to one thing...Miss Universe is BUSINESS and "THE DONALD" has the say at the end of the day. Maybe he has plans of investing in Angola or in Portugal since the winner also speaks Potuguese. Remember when Japan made the Mikimoto Crown for Miss Universe? It was the contestant from Japan who won!

    Even if Ms. Philippines did not make as Ms. Universe atleast being 1st runner up the battle is between Ms. Angola and Ms. Philippines. But as for me Ms. Philippines deserved the crown.

    miss universe organization should reformat their guidelines on how a contestant be a winner,...all contestants should be avoided from using interpreters,..they should speak english since this is a universal language,...
